Need-Based Scholarships

The university to which you apply may offer either or both merit and need-based scholarships. If the university accepts and you choose to apply for need-based scholarships, you must do two things. First, complete the scholarship section of the ApplyTexas admissions application and second, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This federal application can be obtained online or at any high school, community college, or four-year college or university beginning in mid- to late December.

Department Scholarships

If you are applying for scholarships in a specific college, school or department, keep in mind that most colleges and departments award the majority of their scholarship funds to continuing students who have already demonstrated success within their chosen field of study. Many departments also maintain their own separate scholarship applications. It is therefore important that you contact the specific college, school or department at the university to which you are applying for pertinent information.
